Welcome to the website of the research group "Human-Centered Information Systems" at Clausthal University of Technology.
Our main field of interest is the design of digital media and technologies to support human co-operation, communication, and social interaction. We investigate collaborative and interactive systems from a variety of perspectives, including their conceptual design, software architectures, user interfaces, intelligent support meachanisms, and and (last not least) usage by humans in their work, learning or leisure context. In our research, we adopt an interdisciplinary approach which in rooted in Computer Science and Information Technology, but also includes methods from Cognitive and Social Science. See our research page and our publications for a full list of our current and past projects.
In addition to an "Introduction to Computer Science and Programming" course we regularly offer for 1st semester students in the Business Administration program in Clausthal, we also offer a range of classes in the field of Human-Computer Interaction for Bsc and MSc students in Computer Science and Business Information Systems. Please look at our teaching page for details - and do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in writing a thesis in our research fields!
